JUNE 14th, 2018--MARKET WEEK 2
Wait! Where’s The Market?
Those of you who are regular customers will remember that we have one small hiccup in our summer schedule.
This Thursday, June 14th, we relocate across the street to the Sacred Heart church parking lot so that our host, 317 Main Community Music Center, can put on their annual fundraising bash, the Swing Into Summer House Party. It’s an awesome evening with music, signature cocktails, tasty bites and a live auction. Tickets are avail at the door starting 6pm.
We’ll still have a full roster of vendors, guest vendors, live music and a food truck, but you may want to leave a few extra minutes to findstreet parking or, if you’re local, this is a perfect week to walk or bike. Here's the vendor list for this week.
Thanks for making our first week a great success! In case you didn’t catch it, the Forecaster wrote a story about our youngest vendor, Jasper Chappell, I’ve linked to it here.
Anika Wilson, the owner of Bad Rabbit
Flowers, returns for the season this
week with gorgeous bouquets of
peonies. Don’t miss these seasonal
show stoppers. And speaking of season,
two early summer favorites will make
their debut this Thursday. pring
Brook Far will have both strawberries
and rhubarb and eplenova Far is picking first of the season snap peas.
This is also a good week to stock up on spices because hef’s Cupboardis joining us. If you’re like me, you have spices in the back of the cupboardthat predate your children. I can tell you they taste like dust now. Toss them and restock. Jon’s spice blends and dry rubs are fantastic.
We are honored to have ashed In Main food truck here in its final public sojourn. Mashed’s proprietor, former Yarmouth 4th grade teacher Renee Rhoads, is hanging up her potato masher to resume teaching. The spud’s loss will be education’s gain. In the meantime, her delicious meals nestled in a bed of Maine-grown mashed potatoes are THE BEST.
Finally please join me in welcoming our new assistant manager, Greta Elder, this week. Greta will be with us throughout the summer until she starts at Villanova University in the fall.Congratulations and Welcome Greta!
As always, thanks for supporting our small Maine businesses. We rise together.
