FAQ

Covid Protocol

Maine Farmers Markets are considered “essential businesses and operations” by the Governor’s Executive Order and the Yarmouth Farmers Market looks forward to being your trusted source for safe, fresh, locally grown food this season. By continuing to shop at farmers markets you are directly supporting Maine farms and small businesses during uncertain times. Thank you.

As we begin the 2022 season, masking will not be required at the Yarmouth Farmers Market.  This could change if there’s a significant increase in COVID numbers or a new variant begins to circulate.  We have masks at the info booth if you need one.

COVID-19 vaccinations are free and remain widely available at community vaccination centers and local pharmacies. To find a vaccination site near you, visit the State’s vaccination website or call the Community Vaccination Line at 1-888-445-4111.

Location

We are located at 1 Railroad Square in the Bickford Pavilion.  If you put this address into your GPS,  it may come up as “Bickford Transportation Center.”  That’s us!  If you search “Yarmouth Farmers Market” our old location at 317 Main may come up.  Still trying to fix that.  The pavilion is just 100 yards from the old location so you’ll find us either way.  We’re just before or after the railroad tracks on Main Street depending on which way you’re traveling.

Biking

Our market is located in the heart of Yarmouth village, making us an easy & accessible destination by bike. There’s a bike ride by the RR tracks in front of the pavilion or feel free to leave bikes against the fence behind the pavilion. Panniers and backpacks are a great way to transport groceries. We also have free insulated totes at the info booth.

Parking

Parking is available in the field just behind the pavilion.  You’ll see signs.  Please park behind the market, NOT alongside the pavilion.  You can also continue to park in the Sacred Heart Church parking lot across from 317 Main Community Music Center. If you live nearby, walking and biking are great options.

Handicapped Parking

There are 2 handicapped parking places at the rear of the pavilion.  If those spaces are taken, please park alongside the pavilion. If you don’t have handicapped plates, just make sure your placard is visible.

Food Vouchers

YFM created a locally funded food voucher program in 2016 to support Yarmouth families in need. These $15 vouchers can be used like cash at any food vendor. They are available via the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry, through Yarmouth Community Services and at the YFM market info booth. Just ask us for a voucher.

Tote Bags

A statewide ban on single-use plastic carry-out bags went into effect on July 1, 2021. That means vendors cannot give you bags for your produce.

Please remember to bring tote bags or ask for one of ours.  We have sturdy YFM insulated tote bags thanks to our sponsor Legacy/Sotheby’s.  One per customer please.

Bathroom

We have a portable restroom located in the field behind the pavilion.
