CoVid-19 Safety at the Farmers Market

UPDATED 5/25/21

Maine is now following the CDC’s new guidance which allows fully vaccinated people to forgo wearing facing coverings indoors. This follows an earlier decision to allow fully vaccinated people to stop wearing masks outdoors.

For now, the Yarmouth Farmers Market will take a slightly more cautious approach.

Starting Thursday 5/27, we will no longer require customers to wear masks while shopping, but we still think it’s a good idea. For now vendors and market staff will continue to wear masks.

Why? Because we know kids under 16 are not fully vaccinated yet and because it can get pretty crowded under the pavilion.

The exception will be the market musicians. They perform outside the pavilion with plenty of distance between themselves and customers and it’s really hard to sing with a mask on.

We’ll revise these guidelines again based on updated Covid rates and vaccination numbers in Maine.

The following guidelines still apply:

  • If you’re feeling sick, please stay home.

  • Please take advantage of hand sanitizer dispensers.
