Canned, Frozen and Take and Bake meals
James Shaffer grew up in and around the food industry, influenced by his father, who worked as a chef and later became a restaurant owner. Together, they opened a restaurant in Baltimore, Maryland, which they eventually closed shortly before James relocated to Maine with his wife in 2019, where part of her family is from.
After stepping away from the food industry, James’s goal was always to return to cooking once he and his family were more settled in Maine. When their first son, Archie (“Bub”), was born, he filled their chest freezer with meals and soups to ensure they could enjoy home-cooked food without the added stress of cooking while caring for a newborn.
The meals he now offers are inspired by those early preparations—built from cherished family recipes as well as dishes collected through his travels—created to share the same kind of simple, no-fuss, home-cooked experience with others.
